Legalise all Drugs

Typed 4th November, 2007 at 4:10 pm

What if the government turned around tomorrow and decided to legalise all drugs, including the fun recreational ones. Chaos you say? Well not really, perhaps a calmer society would be created. How is that? I hear you say; there will be thousands of addicts, kids with easy access to drugs and plenty of side-effects. But we already have that now, so what else is new.

Gang wars for drug dealing territory will be a thing of the past as pharmaceutical companies will undercut shady dealers with better products for less money. Also think of all the dangerous unneeded chemicals that drugs are cut with, a thing of the past.

Crack whores working in the streets to fuel their addiction. Well no longer since the NHS prescription charge is a flat rate of £6.65 which is affordable for a person working in any profession. People can also be unafraid to seek professional help whilst quitting as their habit is not illegal any longer.

Just a thought that will never come true as the government seem to love losing the war on drugs spending far too much money on non-violent crime, and generally making this country a worse place to live.
