Swallow Your Pride

I like to think I am a busy man, putting out fires all over the place whilst simultaneously balancing a relationship with my awesome girlfriend and keeping on top of all my school work. Things seem to be clashing at the moment however, I am a little short on cash and my bad habits seem to having something to do with it, Alcohol and tabs. Cutting down seems logical, I haven’t smoked in quite a while and I have set a little personal goal for myself.

A personal goal is what you need to control a bad habit (other than acquiring a new one that is!), I’m working with the promise that I’ll buy myself a new acoustic guitar at the end of college this year if I don’t smoke another single cigarette. Sounds like a plan. I’ve also cut back on my drinking during my January exams at college, I think I’ll have a few on the weekend but thats nothing new!

I’ve had two exams this week and both have been this afternoon. How fun, two, hour and a half exams on the trot with no break in a freezing cold exam hall. I think I gave my best effort with both of them and I am happy with the amount of revision I did for both. The tests were mathematics Pure Core 1 and 2. they are the easiest of the two core units and having being the first time I’ve sat an AS level exam I would have to say I am very happy with the outcome.

My Spare Time

My new year was a little eventful, I spent the whole night before new year staying up at my suicidal ex-girlfriends house and as a result I was entirely too tired to enjoy my new year with my current girlfriend and her family, rest assured we drank heartily and enjoyed certain other “pleasures” that make this word a helluva lot less tiresome.

Now I feel a little bogged down in revision with two science exams coming up in both Chemistry and Physics, it looks like the weekend is a little far off and my time spent with Callum on a Friday is looking further and further away. Rest assured though I will be living it up this weekend with the little exception of Sunday where I will be fitting in as much Statistics revision in as possible, quite simply Statistics is the most boring form of maths but it should be an easy exam to pass with an A if I try to remember the methods and how to draw the box plots histograms and product moment correlation coefficients…. etc etc.

I fancy saving some money on condoms but the time they give them away at my college I just happen to be in a maths lesson every Wednesday. So now I have to go down to Boots to stock up, I think I will be going down this friday with the aforementioned Callum. Its buy one get one free on boxes of 12 Durex so I should be getting a decent deal and by the time my girlfriend gets on the pill she should be getting free condoms from the doctor, its a win-win!

Anyway I should do this more often to avoid the onslaught of writing that’s coming out of me at the minute. Oh and check out ted.com and look at some of the talks rated “unmissable”, there are a wealth of great ideas happening and some are simply good shows. The mathemagician is especially interesting, he can square a five digit number in his head quicker than me and you can multiply a two digit number by itself! I could of done with his mental arithmetic knowledge this afternoon in my C1 exam, oh well. I should be posting the results of them here sometime in March or so.
