The Subways

The Subways released their debut album last summer, in July in fact, however I am only just getting my teeth into their debut album "Young For Eternity". All of their songs are short and sweet and seem to have a lot of emotion put into playing them, I for one, would love to see them live.

A few songs that stand out for me are "Rock and Roll Queen" and "No Goodbyes". I absolutely loved "Rock and Roll Queen", it is kind of an indie rock anthem, with few words to learn and an unforgettable chorus which just screams sing-a-long! The Subways seem to have been influenced by popular bands before them such as oasis, as is reflected in Billy Lunn’s singing and the electric guitar riffs.

As I listen more and more I always lean toward the acoustic Subways for my favorite choice of song. I really enjoy listening to "Mary", I hardly know any of the words, however the guitar in that song just pleases me to no end! "She Sun" is another of the brilliant acoustic songs done by The Subways, and again it is just a typical indie song, and I like indie music.

Overall the album has a variation, a mix of upbeat and chilled songs and the combination of the different singers just adds that extra flavour to an already tasty recipe!

Overall 20 / 27
